Alternative Brighton explores what it means to be alternative in one of the UK’s most unapollagetically authentic cities.

This project showcases local residents who consider themselves to be a part of the city’s alternative scene, expressed through elements such as their music taste, fashion choices, hair colour, body modifications and personal interests. Identifying with the alternative scene myself, I couldn't think of a better way to incorporate reciprocal journalism into photography than creating a product for the alternative community in the form of a photo book filled with quotes taken directly from the models featured when asking them if Brighton has played any part in how they present themselves .
